PoleArize

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 29, 2026

PoleArize is a community platform designed to help adult pole dancers discover and connect with other dancers, studios, events, and pole communities.

This Privacy Policy explains what information PoleArize collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

By using PoleArize, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information You Provide

When you create or use a PoleArize account, you may provide information such as:

  • your name or display name;
  • username;
  • email address;
  • profile photo and additional profile photos;
  • bio, status, interests, pole experience, styles, goals, and other profile information;
  • Instagram handle or other social information you choose to include;
  • your Home Base, such as a city, neighborhood, and country;
  • your Pole Scene or community affiliation;
  • studios, events, and other community information you choose to submit;
  • public comments and other content you post;
  • private messages you send to other members;
  • account preferences, privacy settings, blocking choices, and other settings;
  • feedback, reports, screenshots you voluntarily submit, and communications you send to PoleArize; and
  • information about how you heard about PoleArize.

Travel Mode

If you use Travel Mode, you may also provide a temporary travel destination, travel dates, an optional travel note, and related visibility preferences.

Travel Mode is optional. It allows you to discover and connect with the PoleArize community around a destination you choose without changing your permanent Home Base or Pole Scene.

2. Location Information

PoleArize uses location information to support features such as Discover, approximate distance, Home Base, Pole Scenes, studios, events, and Travel Mode.

PoleArize does not collect or track your precise device GPS location.

When you select a Home Base, neighborhood, Travel Mode destination, studio location, or other location within PoleArize, the service uses the place you enter or select to determine an approximate geographic point, such as a city or neighborhood centroid.

PoleArize may store these derived geographic coordinates to provide location-based features. These coordinates represent the place you selected rather than your precise physical or device location.

PoleArize may further offset or approximate locations when displaying members on the Discover map or calculating approximate distance. Raw stored location coordinates are not displayed publicly as your exact location.

Depending on your settings, other members may see general location information you choose to make visible, such as your city, neighborhood, Home Base, Pole Scene, Travel destination, or approximate distance.

3. How We Use Information

PoleArize uses information to:

  • create and maintain your account and profile;
  • provide member discovery, Pole Scene, studio, event, Travel Mode, and community features;
  • provide approximate-distance and map functionality;
  • enable follows, messaging, comments, and other social interactions;
  • personalize your experience;
  • provide and administer Pioneer and other community recognition features;
  • moderate public content and help enforce community safety standards;
  • process reports, blocking, feedback, and safety concerns;
  • provide customer support;
  • operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve PoleArize;
  • understand how members use the service; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.

PoleArize may also record basic information about use of the app, such as which in-app pages a signed-in member visits, to help operate and improve the service.

PoleArize does not use advertising or third-party advertising tracking SDKs in the current version of the service.

4. Public Content and AI-Assisted Safety Moderation

PoleArize uses automated safety tools, including a third-party artificial intelligence service, to review certain content that members choose to publish on PoleArize.

This may include:

  • information you add to or change on your public profile;
  • public comments;
  • information you submit when creating or editing a studio or event; and
  • photos you choose to publish.

When this type of content is checked, the text being reviewed or the image file being reviewed may be sent to the third-party AI service to determine whether it follows PoleArize's community safety standards.

PoleArize currently uses Google Gemini through Base44's AI integration for this moderation.

PoleArize limits the information sent for moderation to the content being checked and general information about the type of content being reviewed. PoleArize does not intentionally include your email address, Home Base, location information, device information, or other account identifiers in the moderation request.

PoleArize does not send your private messages to the third-party AI service for content moderation.

Before PoleArize sends your content to this third-party AI service for the first time, PoleArize will explain this use and ask you to agree. If you do not agree, the content will not be sent to the AI service, but you will not be able to publish content that requires this safety check.

PoleArize uses this moderation to help prevent clearly objectionable content while recognizing that pole dance may include athletic, artistic, sensual, or performance-oriented content. Automated moderation can make mistakes.

5. Private Messages

PoleArize allows members to send private messages and message requests to one another.

Private messages are stored as necessary to provide the messaging service and are accessible to the participants in the conversation as permitted by PoleArize's access controls.

PoleArize does not send private messages to the third-party AI moderation service described above.

Members can report or block other members. PoleArize may review information associated with reports or safety concerns when necessary to investigate abuse, enforce community standards, protect members, or comply with legal obligations.

If a member deletes their account, messages they previously sent may remain in conversations so that the conversation history of other participants is not destroyed. The deleted member is displayed neutrally, such as “Deleted member,” rather than as an active PoleArize profile.

6. When We Share Information

PoleArize does not sell your personal information.

PoleArize may share or process information through service providers that help operate the service. These currently include or may include:

  • Base44 — provides infrastructure used to operate PoleArize, including authentication, hosting, database functionality, backend functions, file storage, and related platform services.
  • Google Gemini — processes certain public text and images submitted for AI-assisted safety moderation as described in Section 4.
  • OpenStreetMap/Nominatim — helps PoleArize resolve location searches and place information. Text you enter when searching for locations, addresses, Home Bases, Pole Scenes, studios, or similar places may be sent to this service to return matching locations. PoleArize may also send derived coordinates for a place you selected to obtain or confirm general locality information.
  • CARTO — provides map tiles used in PoleArize's map experience. Requests for map tiles may communicate the general geographic area of the map you are viewing.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — when push notifications are enabled in the PoleArize iOS app, information necessary to deliver notifications may be processed through Apple and Base44. Notification content may include information related to activity on your PoleArize account, such as messages, message requests, new followers, or community recognition.

PoleArize may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect the rights or safety of PoleArize or others, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our policies.

7. Photos and Other Uploaded Content

When you upload a profile photo, additional profile photo, event image, studio image, screenshot, or other file, PoleArize stores that content through the services used to operate the platform.

PoleArize does not require access to your entire photo library. You choose the files or photos you want to upload.

Public photos may be visible to other members according to the feature in which they are posted and your applicable privacy settings.

Certain photos intended for public posting may be reviewed using the AI-assisted moderation process described in Section 4.

8. Reports, Blocking, Feedback, and Community Safety

PoleArize provides tools that allow members to report and block other members and submit feedback or safety concerns.

When you submit a report or feedback, PoleArize may collect the information you provide as well as limited diagnostic information useful for understanding and investigating the submission. This may include:

  • your username, display name, and email address;
  • the page, route, or URL within PoleArize associated with the submission;
  • your timezone;
  • general device, platform, and browser information, which may include your browser user-agent string;
  • the PoleArize app version; and
  • a screenshot, if you choose to include one.

Blocking may restrict visibility and interaction between accounts and may remove existing social relationships between the members involved.

PoleArize may use reports and related information to investigate safety issues, enforce community standards, respond to abuse, and improve the service.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

PoleArize retains account information for as long as necessary to provide the service and for legitimate operational, safety, security, or legal purposes.

You may permanently delete your PoleArize account from within the app.

When you delete your account, PoleArize removes your active User record and disassociates or removes personal information from related areas of the service as appropriate.

Certain information may remain in a non-identifying or historical form where necessary to preserve other members' content or legitimate community history. For example:

  • messages you previously sent may remain in another member's conversation history but will no longer link to your active profile;
  • historical community recognition may retain non-identifying information necessary to preserve recognition capacity and history;
  • historical activity may remain while identifying and member-location information associated with your deleted account is removed; and
  • studio or event history may remain where it describes the studio or event rather than your personal account.

PoleArize reserves a deleted username for approximately 30 days after account deletion before it may become available for reuse.

Uploaded Files

When you delete your account, PoleArize initiates a process to identify certain uploaded files associated specifically with your account, such as your profile photos and screenshots you submitted with feedback, for deletion.

Images you previously contributed to studio or event listings may remain with those listings after your account is deleted because they form part of the retained studio or event content.

PoleArize's current platform does not provide PoleArize with a direct automated interface for deleting underlying stored files. Files identified for deletion may therefore require processing by Base44 support and may not be removed from underlying storage immediately.

PoleArize does not treat your account as recoverable after account deletion merely because an underlying file is awaiting this storage-level deletion process.

Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security and integrity of PoleArize.

10. Your Choices and Controls

Depending on the feature, PoleArize provides controls that may allow you to:

  • edit your profile information;
  • change your username subject to applicable limits;
  • change your Home Base;
  • select or change your Pole Scene;
  • use or disable Travel Mode;
  • control certain profile, neighborhood, map, distance, and Travel Mode visibility settings;
  • follow or unfollow members;
  • manage messaging interactions;
  • block members;
  • submit reports and feedback;
  • control push notifications through your device settings, when push notifications are available; and
  • permanently delete your account.

11. Push Notifications

PoleArize may offer push notifications in the mobile app for activity such as new messages, message requests, followers, or Pole Scene recognition.

When push notifications are available, they require permission through your device and may be delivered using platform services such as Apple's Push Notification service.

You can control whether PoleArize may send push notifications through your device's notification settings.

12. Age Requirement and Children's Privacy

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a PoleArize member account.

PoleArize is not intended for children or minors under 18, and PoleArize does not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to maintain member accounts.

Members are required to confirm that they are 18 years of age or older. PoleArize does not collect or store your date of birth or numeric age for this purpose. PoleArize stores only whether your account has confirmed that it meets the age requirement.

This confirmation remains associated with your User record while your account exists and is deleted when your User record is deleted.

If you believe that an individual under 18 is using PoleArize or has provided personal information through the service, contact hello@polearize.com so that PoleArize can review the situation and take appropriate action.

13. Security

PoleArize uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect information and restrict access according to the functionality of the service.

PoleArize uses access controls and backend authorization rules designed to restrict sensitive account information and actions to authorized users.

However, no online service, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. International Use and Data Transfers

PoleArize may be used by members in different countries, and the service providers used to operate PoleArize may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

Where required, PoleArize and its service providers rely on applicable legal mechanisms for international transfers of personal information.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

PoleArize may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes or as legal, operational, or safety requirements evolve.

When the policy is updated, PoleArize will revise the effective date above. If changes are material, PoleArize may provide additional notice where appropriate.
